God's will

We assume that following God means walking down a smooth path. So when we suddenly hit a wall, our first instinct is to think we’ve taken a wrong turn. But when God calls us forward, the obstacle in front of us isn't a barrier, but a stage for His power to be revealed.

Look at Israel. They traveled exactly where God told them to go, yet ended up trapped in front of the Red Sea. By any reasonable measure, their situation was over. Imagine how confusing that must have felt. Obedience to God's plan made the situation worse, not better.

Yet God's plan was never in danger. The Red Sea wasn't standing in the way of His plan - it was part of it. God intentionally led His people to a place where they couldn't save themselves so they would learn to trust Him completely and witness His power firsthand. How often does He do the same thing in our lives?

We pray for guidance. We seek His will. We take the step of obedience He puts in front of us. And when we encounter resistance, delays, closed doors, uncertainty, or challenges we never expected, our temptation is to retreat, question God's leading, or assume we must have missed Him somewhere along the way.

But sometimes the obstacle isn't evidence that you should turn back. Sometimes it's a test of whether you'll keep trusting and obeying when the outcome no longer makes sense.

Faith isn't just taking the first step when God speaks. It's continuing to follow Him when the path becomes difficult and the destination isn't visible.

If you're facing something today that feels bigger than your wisdom, resources, strength, or ability, don't be too quick to call it a dead end. If God has truly called you forward, your responsibility is obedience. His responsibility is the outcome.

The same God who parted the sea is still able to make a way where no way exists.
